Giant Saputo Cheeseboard
This behemoth of a cheeseboard was absolute madness and fun to make. Total of 145 hours: 20 hours of prep and cutting, 10 hours of pre assembly and measuring, 40 hours of gluing and clamping, 24 hours for handling the lamination and the CNC work, 16 hours for the shipping container, 9 hours of sanding, 8 hours of oiling and sanding, 6 hours of prepping the storage container for the board, and another 15 hours for just the in-between work.
14ft long, 6” thick and 6ft wide, woods used Maple, Vancouver Island Maple, Purple Heart, Wenge.
We went through 6 grits of sandpaper, 2 jugs of glue, 12 bags of planner chips, and used 32 bessey clamps.
